For as long as I can remember, I have always been the curious kid. I am fascinated by almost everything around me. So, (logically) I would ask many questions. And If the answer isn't to my satisfaction, I'd ask some more. Sometimes my questions are basic children questions, but other times it can be philosophical, borderline existential, questions.

 

Adults don't like that. Imagine a seven year old, asking about reincarnation, morals and ethics.

I used to have this fear that I would lose this childlike curiosity as I grow older, but I learn that you can never really lose it. It can be neglected and forgotten, but it can always be nurtured back to life. Another chance to experience the world with an open-mind and a sense of excitement instead of falling into the trap of adulthood pessimism disguised as maturity.

Of course, I can never know everything. In fact this is the paradox of knowledge: the more you know, the more you realised how much you don't know. And this paradox, humbles me to the core. My thirst for knowledge isn't about being the smartest one in the room, but rather it is about experiencing and understanding the wholeness of life with all its chaos and beauty.

Because ultimately, I am only a visitor. I don't know where I will go after, but I know that for now I am a guest and a student. And I am responsible for my action toward the people around me.
